One Day Training Workshop On “TeamSTEPPS A Framework To Improve Health Care Quality”

The Department of Quality Assurance (DQA) organized a training session on "A Framework to Enhance Health Care Quality" in line with the vision of Foundation University Islamabad (FUI). The training was specifically organized for the Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH), and conducted by Dr. Saduq Fatimah (Certified Healthcare Quality Professional – CHQP) on June 2nd, 2023.
Dr. Saduq Fatimah began the training by introducing TEAMSTEPPS (Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety). TEAMSTEPPS is a structured program designed to educate healthcare professionals on effective teamwork principles and practices. The training focused on enhancing communication, collaboration, and patient safety within healthcare team members.
During the TEAMSTEPPS training, participants gained knowledge about essential concepts and principles related to effective teamwork and communication. They were introduced to a variety of tools and strategies that can be applied in their daily practice to improve patient outcomes. The goal of the training was to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to work effectively as a team, foster a culture of safety, and enhance patient outcomes. Ongoing reinforcement and refresher training were recommended to sustain and further enhance the benefits of TEAMSTEPPS in the long run.
At the conclusion of the training, Director of Quality Assurance presented a souvenir to Dr. Saduq Fatimah as a token of appreciation. She expressed gratitude to both the resource person and the audience for their active participation and presence during the training.
